Potato fields as far as you can see, at the bottom of a glacial valley.

Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix sits north of Montebello on Route 323, in a valley carved by glaciers around 20,000 years ago. The Petite Nation River runs through it and the soil is good enough that potatoes became the local identity. The parish dates back to 1902.
It's a quiet village, but rue Notre-Dame has more going on than you'd think: an ice cream stand, an inn, and farms around town selling direct. In the fall, with the colours out, take the back roads.
The Héritage golf club keeps people around all year: 18 holes in summer, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter.
